History of the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers

The Broadway Palm opened in 1993 with Me and My Girl to offer Cape Coral and Fort Myers residents live theater entertainment. Since then, this popular dinner theater on Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers has hosted shows across the spectrum form Phantom of the Opera and Annie to The Full Monty and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Musicals have included Cats, the Sound of Music and South Pacific while comedies such as Menopause the Musical have brought the house down! From time to time the theater puts on special Children’s Theatre productions with stories such as Aladdin. The theater goes the whole way by providing a kiddie-style lunch of pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets and desserts suitable for youngsters in the all-inclusive mini-size ticket price of around $18. The cast stay onstage after the event for children to get their autographs and ask questions.

There’s rarely an empty seat for any of the carefully chosen productions brought to the Broadway Palm by the Prather Entertainment Group, a theatrical family company with more than 45 years’ experience. Their philosophy of giving guests great entertainment at a great value continues to see their company succeed.

Cocktails, Buffet Dining and a Great Show!

Start your visit in the bar where specialty cocktails, wine and other drinks get your dinner theater event off to a flying start. When the doors open, find your reserved table and help yourself to the wonderful buffet of chef-prepared salads, meats, seafood and desserts. Some popular favorite dishes include sweet potato casserole, crunchy pea salad, noodle kugel and ambrosia salad. Save room for dessert which may include coconut macaroons, New Orleans bread pudding and many more irresistible delights.

Everyone gets a great view of the stage from their dinner table in the Main Theatre as the floor is carefully tiered. Of course, Row A is particularly popular with tables for four right in front of the stage. Right at the back there are three rows of comfortable seats without tables for those who prefer to just purchase a ticket to the show without dinner – but just think what you’ll miss! Altogether the main theater holds 396 guests for the dinner show and a further 52 show-only seats. The well-planned theater floor has no steps between levels and there are no obstructed views.

For smaller productions the Off-Broadway Palm Theatre seats just 98 visitors in a traditional theater setting and is ideal for private events. The Café Cabaret is ideal for corporate meetings, luncheons and birthdays, all catered for by Executive Chef Greg Van Horn.

Such is the popularity and high reputation of the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, it attracts visitors from further afield who combine a visit to the dinner show with a stay at a local hotel. Those lucky enough to live nearby can benefit from season subscriptions, with savings of $12 per person on the dinner and show. Regular guests also get the pick of the best seats as well as having a great line-up of shows, concerts and musicals to look forward to each season.
