My friends and I were looking for a little weekend adventure so we decided to take a day trip down to Fort Myers Beach for a little fun in the sun and adventure on the silky blue waters. With food, drinks and sunscreen packed, we drove down very early on a Saturday morning en route to Holiday Water Sports to rent a deck boat for part of the day. They have three locations along Fort Myers Beach and offer a multitude of activities to choose from including boat rentals, parasailing, WaveRunners, stand up paddleboards, kayaks, Hobie Cats, dolphin tours or, for those looking for some simple relaxation, umbrellas and lounge chairs for rent to hang out on the beach for the day. For those looking to fish, Holiday Water Sports offers fishing poles as well as bait, tackle and fishing licenses (which are required).
We arrived at Holiday Water Sports Pink Shell Beach Resort location, 250 Estero Blvd., and unloaded our vehicle, excited to get started on our adventure. Mark and Beite were extremely friendly and helpful, taking extra time to point out a range of places, on the map they provide, where we could go to spot various wildlife, pull up for lunch or anchor the deck boat for a little beach time. We meandered through the back bay and enjoyed every second of it. Nothing better than the sun shining on your face and the cool breeze in your hair, it melts the stress away.It was a unanimous decision that swimming was in order so we anchored the deck boat and enjoyed our own “private beach” for a bit. Ethan, my 10-year-old godson, had a blast discovering the many hermit crabs along the beach and begged to take them home as his new pets. His parents are pleased to report the cute little critters are still living the life in the waters where he spotted them.
After our pit stop to swim, we cruised along the shores of Fort Myers Beach viewing the spectacular scenery, wildlife and folks out on boats, Wave Runners and jet skis. Time sure goes by quickly when you’re having such a pleasurable time. What a terrific time we had! For those of you who live in or are planning a trip to the Fort Myers area, I would highly recommend a day out on the spectacular waters of the Gulf of Mexico which would, no doubt, be an adventure for the entire family where you can explore on your own. Book your adventure with Holiday Water Sports today; you won’t be disappointed that’s for sure.
