Located on Little Sarasota Bay, The Point is part of a local restaurant chain called Evie’s Family. It offers an impressive three floors of casual waterfront dining. It’s an ideal location whether you are coming by vehicle or boat. Plus, the sunset views are spectacular.

Then there’s the food. Under the Starters category, you have the Hot Baltimore Crab Pretzel, served with crab dip and melted cheese. Or, there are parmesan truffle fries, fried calamari, and a charcuterie platter, among other delectable choices.

The Point also features several types of salads, including The Point salad with herb-grilled chicken, arugula, blue cheese, candied pecans, and pears, topped off with a house balsamic dressing.

The folks at The Point do a nice job of including some unique pizzas on their menu, like the blackened grouper pizza with grouper, shallot cream sauce, tomato, and arugula; and lobster fra diavolo, with chunk lobster, caramelized onion, spinach, and spicy red sauce.

The entrees sound just as appetizing as the starters, salads, and pizzas. Lobster lovers, there’s a North Atlantic lobster roll, with lobster chunks, lemon basil mayo, cucumber, and fries. Southern style shrimp and grits is another option if you want a local specialty, and seared sea scallops are made with oyster mushrooms, tomato bacon jam, and creamy risotto.

If you want something less seafood-focused, there’s even filet mignon and cauliflower “steak.”

Then who can forget dessert? You’ve got sweet and tangy key lime pie, caramel toffee crunch sundae, and chocolate mousse.

You can enjoy all The Point Restaurant has to offer, including live music, happy hour specials, and brunch from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Of course, don’t forget that super sunset view.

Online reviews shed the spotlight on The Point’s, well, high points. “Beautiful scene and fun place,” raves one online reviewer. “Great atmosphere and vibe, highly recommend,” another reviewer writes. “Nice hidden gem along the bay,” another reviewer shares.

The Point Restaurant also has an adjacent, popular tiki bar.
