Family Fun Things to do at Lakes Park
Whether you’re interested in hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, birdwatching, or picnicking, Lee County’s 279-acre Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers, Florida offers it all in droves. Kids will love the rock climbing wall, playground, water feature playground (splash park) and the Miniature Railroad and Train Village. Miniature Railroad offers a 1.5-mile ride around a portion of the lake through a natural setting and ride through a tunnel.
Lakes Regional Park also features restrooms, free wifi, Community Gardens, a sensory experience of plants, trees, and shrubs.
Birding at Lakes Regional Park
Over 1,000 birds call the park home during nesting season, and the park boasts rare Florida species like the Scarlet Ibis and the Black Crown Night Heron. Visiting in May? Plan on jamming to chart-topping country artists at the annual Lakeside Country Bash.
Bike, Surrey, and Paddle Boat Rentals
Wheel Fun Rentals offers surreys, bikes, and paddle boat rentals. They have two rental locations at Lakes Regional Park, one at the Marina (near the Train Ride), and another by the beach.

Snacks And Refreshments
Whistle Stop Ice Cream Shop at the Marina is a concession with pizza, burgers, hot dogs, nachos, homemade ice cream, malts, sundaes, and more.
Lakes Park Guided Walks
Free guided walks seasonally.Dress appropriately; wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Parking fee $1.00 per hour or $5.00 per day. For registration call 239.533.7440.
First Saturday of the month from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Join bird patrol volunteers on a guided walk through the park to observe birds and other wildlife.
Second Saturday of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. take a strolling tour of the Botanic Garden with a Master Gardener.
Third Saturday of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. Children’s Walk at Garden.

All motorized vehicles must pay $1 per hour or $5 for all day access to the park. Lakes Regional Park does accept the Lee County Annual Parking sticker. Pedestrians and bicyclists are free. (Pedestrians and bicyclists can access the park via the bike path on Gladiolus Drive or Summerlin Road).
Please note, alcohol and pets are not allowed in the Park.
