Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary 

This 13,450-acre preserve located about 30 minutes east of Naples is home to the largest remaining stand of virgin bald cypress trees in the world and is the Western Everglades gateway. 

Start your visit at The Blair Audubon Visitor Center to view exhibits, artwork, and a family-friendly discovery area.

Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary offers a picnic area, nature store, and cafe (see website for café hours).

Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary features bird-friendly gardens, a 2.25-mile raised hardwood boardwalk trail that winds through five different habitats; the largest old-growth bald cypress forest in North America, pine flatwoods, wet prairie, sawgrass pond, and central marsh. It includes a Marsh Observation Platform.

Visitors can see various wildlife including alligators, wading birds, songbirds, raptors, otters, white-tailed deer, red-bellied turtles, and more.

A variety of wildlife and nature-centered programs, special events, and tours are offered year-round at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. 

Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the last admission at 1 p.m. 

Ample free parking is available. 

Wheelchairs are available free of charge for use while at the sanctuary on a first come basis. Binoculars are available for rent for $3.50.
