Coquina Beach

Coquina Beach is the longest stretch of beach on the southern end of Anna Maria Island on the Gulf of Mexico.

Coquina Beach is a fantastic spot to spend the day with family and friends with it’s relaxing atmosphere, calm waters, and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the day.

The flat white-sand beach is ideal for sunbathing and safe swimming. Lifeguards are on duty at Coquina Beach every day. The covered hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Labor Day thru Memorial Day and 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day (summer).

The beach is lined with a paved walking/bike path.

Coquina Beach Amenities

Amenities include lots of free parking, lifeguards, restrooms, concessions, gift shop, showers, changing cabanas, pavilions, picnic tables, grills, as well as a children’s playground and sand volleyball courts.

Enjoy a full menu including early-morning breakfast options, lunch, snacks, and cold beverages at Coquina Café. Seating is available on their outdoor deck.

The Park’s southernmost end borders New Pass Inlet which runs from the Gulf of Mexico into the Intracoastal Waterway and is a great spot to shore fish.

A nature trail across the street from the beach leads to wildlife encounters and bay views.

Coquina Beach Rules and Regulations

  • Alcohol, littering, & glass containers are prohibited.
  • Pets are prohibited.
  • Drones and other remotely operated vehicles or toys are prohibited.
  • No campfires. Grilling is allowed only in provided grills.
  • Fireworks are prohibited.
  • Disturbing wildlife or destruction of habitat by walking on dunes is prohibited.
  • Golf carts, ATVs, and other vehicles are not allowed on pedestrian paths or on the beach.
  • Wildlife is protected by law from being hunted, harassed, injured, captured, chased, displaced or otherwise disturbed. Please enjoy viewing and photographing wildlife from a distance.
  • Sea Turtle Season is May 1 – October 31
    • No lights on the beach after sunset.
    • Do not approach turtles or nests.
    • Remove beach furniture at dusk.
    • Leave nests and signs undisturbed.

Boat Launch

A boat launch is located just across the street from Coquina Beach on the Intracoastal Waterway side.

Footpaths and boardwalks lead off from the ramp around the mangrove-lined lagoons. It makes a pleasant walk beneath shady pine trees along Florida’s natural coastline, and it’s ideal for a spot of fishing or bird watching.
